The Khalifa University faculty has a depth of international teaching and industrial experience. Khalifa University academic staff regularly presents cutting-edge research at international conferences and seminars while eminent academics and industrialists worldwide monitor the quality of courses. This has manifested itself in high quality teaching relevant to the needs of industry, a consistent quality graduate output over a period of 20 years, as well as appropriate postgraduate research.
Current undergraduate degrees at Khalifa University are fully accredited by both: the UAE's Ministry of Higher Education. Some of the programs in Sharjah Campus are also accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) - the official body in the United Kingdom for accrediting Engineering and Technology Qualifications. Khalifa University is proud to be the only institution in the Arab world to be accredited by the IET Institute. Postgraduate degrees have been awarded Accreditation-Eligible status from the Ministry of Higher Education, UAE.
The University presently offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in engineering. The offerings in the near future will be in five disciplines: engineering, logistics management, health sciences, homeland security and sciences. Khalifa University is open to men and women from all nationalities with particular emphasis being placed on educating young UAE national citizens.
The vision, mission and objectives of the University demand that the University provide a world-class educational, intellectual and research environment and produce graduates that form a superlative cadre of engineers, technologists and applied scientists capable of making major contributions to the current and future sectors of UAE industry and society.
The programs offered by Khalifa University are designed to be flexible, competitive and intellectually stimulating. Students are provided with excellent services, including a comprehensive library collection, laboratories and workshops equipped with the latest technology, and extensive computing facilities, in addition to language learning laboratories, accommodation, and sports and recreational facilities.
Particular emphasis is placed on research activities in all colleges of the institution, as demonstrated by the explicit inclusion of the word ‘research' in the name of the University. An international Centre for Research & Development is being developed with a range of key partners to ensure that research is an integral and very important part of the university.
