Call for Participation
On behalf of the organizing Committee of the Mobile Application Contest 2008 (MAC’2008) and the UAE MAC Steering Committee, we are delighted to invite you to participate in MAC’2008. This year, the event is sponsored by Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in collaboration with Etisalat Corporation, and organized by the Computer Engineering Departments of Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (Former Etisalat University College) and American University in Dubai.
The contest provides an excellent opportunity for students majoring in Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Telecommunications to show their skills in developing mobile applications, and to meet students from other UAE and Arab and North African institutions. A two-day training session in developing mobile applications through Java 2 Micro Edition will be offered by Nokia free of charge for one student from each registered team.
The award ceremony of MAC'2008 will be held on Saturday 10th May 2008 to demonstrate the short-listed projects and to announce the winning projects. The winning teams will be awarded valuable prizes including top of the range mobile phones. Media coverage for the event will be sought.
