Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research is proud to announce that it is now accepting applications for its Master’s Degree by Research in Engineering. This is the first Master’s Degree to be offered by any UAE higher education institution in the area of engineering which is performed entirely by research.

The M.Sc. by Research in Engineering degree is awarded for independent investigation of specialized areas of communication/ computer/ electronics engineering. Candidates for this degree are supervised by experienced researchers and are expected to demonstrate initiative in their approach and innovation in their work. The period of study concludes with the presentation of a thesis that must have a contribution to the relevant field.

This is an exciting challenge for anyone, with the right personal and academic qualities, to extend their knowledge and perception of engineering. Graduates of this program will be highly sought after by employers both in industry and academia. Candidates interested in this prestigious program should bear in mind the following information:

• Candidates must have a Bachelor degree with a minimum CGPA score of 3.0 out of 4.0 or equivalent (e.g. an upper second-class honors degree) in Electrical engineering, Electronic engineering, Communication engineering, Computer engineering or Computer science. Candidates with degrees in other pertinent specializations may also be considered.
• Candidates must have achieved a minimum level of proficiency in English in the form of a TOEFL score of 550 or equivalent (e.g. a minimum IELTS score of 6.0).
• The course may be undertaken on a full-time (minimum 18 months, 40 hours/week) or part-time (minimum 30 months, 24 hours/week) basis.
• The tuition fees for the programme are AED 85,000. Fees can be paid on a quarterly basis (one payment every 3 months in advance).

The following scholarships are available:

Buhooth Scholarships

This is open for UAE Nationals only. The scholarship provides an attractive monthly salary, payment of all tuition fees, support for attending international research conferences, support for visits to international research centers, and a guaranteed job after graduation. UAE ICT Funded Scholarships

This is open for both UAE Nationals and Non-UAE Nationals. This scholarship is provided as part of a project funded by the UAE ICT Fund. The scholarship provides a monthly stipend and payment of all tuition fees. To apply for a scholarship under this scheme:

• In Section "E - Finance" of the Application Form, please make sure that you write "UAE ICT Funded Project".
