Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research is proud to announce the launch of its Ph.D. in Engineering degree program. The program has already been granted initial accreditation by the Ministry of Higher Education. This is the first Ph.D. in Engineering degree to be offered by any UAE. higher education institution.

The Ph.D. in Engineering degree is awarded for independent investigation of specialised areas of communication/ computer/ electronics engineering. Candidates for this degree are supervised by experienced researchers and are expected to demonstrate initiative in their approach and innovation in their work. The period of study concludes with the presentation of a thesis that must be a significant contribution to the relevant field.

Candidates interested in this prestigious program should bear in mind the following information:

• Candidates must have a Master degree with a minimum G.P.A. score of 3.0 out of 4.0 or equivalent (e.g., a minimum average of 60% in a UK-style Master by taught courses or a Pass in a Master by Research / M.Phil.) in Electrical engineering, Electronic engineering, Communication engineering, Computer engineering, Computer science, and Information Technology.
  
• Candidates must have achieved a minimum level of proficiency in English in the form of a TOEFL score of 550 or an equivalent qualification (a minimum IELTS of 6.0).
  
• The course may be undertaken on a full-time (minimum 3 years) or part-time (minimum 5 years) basis.
  
• The tuition fees are AED 70,000 per year for a full-time registered student and AED 42,000 per year for a part-time registered student. Fees can be paid on a quarterly basis (one payment every 3 months in advance).
