| As Manager of KUSTAR - Sharjah Campus, Dr. Ali provides leadership
and management needed for efficient integration of Sharjah Campus within
KUSTAR. He maintains effective coordination between Sharjah Campus and KUSTAR Management to ensure that Sharjah Campus and its programs are in line with the overall strategic direction of KUSTAR. Dr. Ali's responsibilities also include overseeing the total operation of the campus, academic programs, budget, human resources, staff development, student enrollment and efficient utilization of campus resources. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE). He is also a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng), a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS). Career Path: Prior to becoming Manager of KUSTAR - Sharjah Campus, Dr. Ali was Deputy Manager of KUSTAR, and was also assistant professor and then associate professor, before being promoted to Deputy Head of the Computer Engineering Department at Etisalat University College (EUC)*. At EUC, Dr. Ali has also been involved in various committees and has been assigned as Coordinator of Short Courses, in which he developed the short courses program at EUC and organized a number of short courses for both internal staff and external partners. Dr. Ali is the founder and first Program Chair of the M.Sc. in Information Security at KUSTAR, one of the first postgraduate degrees specialized in Information Security in the UAE and the region. He has lectured on various subjects and specializations including Programming, Software Development, Multimedia, Internet Applications and Internet Security. He has also delivered a number of information security related training courses to external entities such as police and government organizations Education: Dr. Ali has a doctoral degree in Electronics Systems Engineering and a Master's degree in Telecommunications and Information Systems both from the University of Essex, U.K. He also has a Bachelor's of Engineering degree in Telecommunications from the Etisalat University College. * Currently know as Khalifa University - Sharjah Campus |
