Dr. Banu is an expertise in waste management. She has beenAssistant Professor of Environmental Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. She has experience in sustainable water/wastewater treatment systems, landfill management, dewatering of sludge, and zero waste technology. She is a recipient of the innovative R&D National Institution Award at Mohammed Bin Rashid, AlMaktoum Global Water Award,  guest speaker at seminars and lectures and mentor of the several undergraduate research competitions (ASCE, AGRAme, AQUAme, UAEUSC etc.,).
