Dr. Shihab Jimaa is currently an Associate Professor at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He received his PhD and MSc degrees in Digital Communications from Loughborough University, England, UK, in 1990, and 1986, respectively. Also Dr. Jimaa holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCE) from the University of Hertfordshire, UK in 1998. He held several positions as Research Assistant, Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Professor at various institutions include Loughborough University/UK, Warwick University/UK, Near-East University/Cyprus, Amman University/Jordan, and the University of Hertfordshire/UK. His research interests include energy efficient wireless communication systems & networks, channel estimation and equalization, signal processing for digital communications/Biomedical engineering, and atrial fibrillation data analysis and validation. He successfully supervised more than 30 PG students. Dr. Jimaa is a UK Chartered Electrical Engineer, a Senior Member of the IEEE Communications and Education societies, a Member of IET, and a Fellow member of higher education academy (HEA)/UK. He has authored more than 90 papers in various referred international conferences and journals.

Dr. Jimaa worked jointly, in 2013, with KIAST (South Korea) on Energy-efficient Cloud Radio Access Networks Using Cross-Layer Interactions. Also currently he is jointly working with Queen Mary University of London (UK) on Energy Efficient Cooperative Coalition Selection in Cluster-based Capillary Networks for CMIMO IOT Systems. He initiated, organized, and chaired the IEEE Int. workshops PEMOS 2010-2012 and GROWN 2013-2014 in conjunctions with the IEEE WiMob International conferences.

Dr. Jimaa is the guest editor of the Special Issue on Energy Efficient Wireless Communication Networks with QoS, International Journal of Communication Systems by John Wiley, 2017. Also Dr. Jimaa is an editorial board member of the International journal of Wireless Communication and Simulation.
