Vincent studied chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota (U.S.A.) and was awarded with his B.Sc. degree with distinction back in 1993. He went on to complete his graduate education in the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Pennsylvania and was awarded with his Ph.D. degree in 1997. Afterwards, he worked for two years in Genome Therapeutics Corporation, by then a genomics biotechnology company in Boston, USA. From 2000 to 2016, he has served in three engineering disciplines including mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and biomedical engineering of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He has also served as the Deputy Division Head in the Division of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from 2007 to 2010. Along the way, he managed two academic programs by serving as Associate Chair (Academic Matters) the Department of Chemical Engineering from 2010 to 2013. Since September 2016, he has assumed his new role of Professor in the new Department of Chemical Engineering at Khalifa University. To date, his research in cellular biomechanics and biointerfacial engineering has led to 81 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
