His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed chairs Khalifa University's Board of Trustees Meeting

Khalifa University held a meeting for its Board of Trustees at the University’s Abu Dhabi campus. The meeting was chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court and Deputy Chairman of Khalifa University Board of Trustees.
The meeting was attended by members of the board of trustees, namely, H.E. Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, H.E. Mohammed Hassan Omran, H.E. Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi, H.E. Eng. Hussain I. Al Hammadi, H.E. Professor Elias Zerhouni, H.E. Professor Kiyoshi Kurokawa and H.E. Professor Maw - Kuen Wu.
It was also attended by Dr. Tod Laursen, President, Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President at Khalifa University, Dr. Mohammed Al Mualla, Khalifa University’s Senior Vice President for Research and Development, Mr. Ebrahim Jafar Alahmed, Khalifa University’s Vice President for Administration and Finance.
During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed at length. These included a summary of a report given by the President’s Advisory Committee, an update on future programs, newly approved degrees and changes to the academic calendar. An update on the status of graduate student recruitment and strategies for the recruitment of post-doctoral scholars.
The Board also discussed international partnerships and how to encourage more collaboration, as well as, being updated on the status of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, a review of the University’s financial performance in 2013 and potential investment plans for University funds. In addition, there was an update given on the UAE Advanced Network for Research and Education’s (ANKABUT) strategic plan.
