Khalifa University of Science and Technology Achieves Top University Ranking in the UAE by Times Higher Education University Rankings University ranked highest in the UAE for the second year in a row and the second top in the Arab World, advancing at least 150 places in the world ranking In its first achievement after the merger of three leading higher education institutions, Khalifa University of Science and Technology has achieved a significant milestone as it advanced at least 150 places in the widely respected Times Higher Education (THE) University Rankings, while simultaneously sustaining its position as the top university in the UAE. The University ranked in the 301-350 band out of 1102 universities from 77 countries advancing from the 501-600 category in last year’s rankings. This follows last year’s ranking, which was the first for University since it was founded.
HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Chairman of Khalifa University of Science and Technology’s Board of Trustees stressed the importance of this achievement as an evidence to the quality that the education system in the UAE enjoys and what it has achieved in a few years, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. HH stated that Khalifa University of Science and Technology today, with its advanced research and modern facilities, has an international reputation and is able to compete with the most prestigious universities from all over the world. It also employs all its efforts and research capabilities to graduate generations of young people capable of taking the responsibility of building the UAE and enhancing its role in the knowledge economy. Khalifa University has previously made the list of top 100 universities under 50 years of age, as the youngest university in the world in that list, according to QS. It has also ranked top in the UAE in the QS World University Ranking 2016, top in the Arab World according to THE emerging world and BRICS universities ranking and in the top 80 in THE Asia University Rankings.
