Faculty research intensity and personalized access to students

Khalifa University’s staff to faculty ratio, and the research activity of our faculty, is one of our key strengths.

  • Khalifa University’s faculty to staff ratio is one of the most favorable in the country.  Since all faculty are expected to be research active, this gives students personalized attention f rom mentors who are at the cutting edge of their fields.

Accredited programs

All of Khalifa University's programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education. A number of our undergraduate programs are also accredited by the international engineering accreditation body ABET:

 

Research

Khalifa University offers a rigorous research environment. Our research areas of interest include Aerospace, Transport and Logistics, Energy and the Environment, Healthcare, Information and Communication Technology, and Security. Our research goals are supported by a number of research centers based within the University, including:

A growing center of excellence

  • In 2016 Khalifa University was listed as one of the best universities in the UAE by the Times Higher Education World University rankings. This was the first time that KU had been listed by THE. 
  • The University was also ranked as the youngest university in the 2016 Top 100 under 50 list published by QS, falling under the 51-60 bracket. This pushed the university up 20 places from the previous year, when it first appeared on the list.

  • Ranked 49 out of 300 worldwide universities (first-time listing) 
  • Top university in the UAE out of three universities 

2016 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (September 2016)

  • Ranked 501-600 out of over 900 universities
  • First university in the UAE out of three universities

2016 QS Top 100 Under 50 (Next 50 Under 50) (September 2016)

  • Ranked 51-60 out of 100 universities (youngest University in the top 100 worldwide) (⇧ 20 places)

2016 QS World Rankings (September 2016)

  • Ranked 401-410 out of 800 universities (⇧ 80 places)
  • Top university in the UAE out of six (⇧ 2 places)

2016 QS University Rankings – Arab Region (June 2016)

  • Ranked 25 out of 100 universities (1 place from 2015)
  • Sixth in UAE out of 13 universities

US News Best Arab Region Universities (Released June 2016)

  • Ranked 45th out of 124 in overall ranking ( 33 places from November 2014)
  • Sixth in UAE of ten universities listed
  • Ranked 29th of 109 international universities listed for engineering subjects.
  • Ranked 4th in UAE in Engineering.

  • Third in UAE out of six universities
