- About Us
Khalifa University is a participant in the CITI program which is a provider of research compliance education content and world-wide consortium of universities, government agencies, and research organizations. The CITI program’s mission is "To promote the public's trust in the research enterprise by providing high quality, peer reviewed, web based, research education materials to enhance the integrity and professionalism of investigators and staff conducting research." KU faculty, students, and staff can create an account for access to training materials using their Khalifa University email. All faculty, students, and staff engaging in research involving human subjects will be required to complete CITI training in human subjects, responsible conduct in research, misconduct, and data management.
Al Mafraq Hospital’s Research Ethics Committee (REC) provides review and approval of medical research involving human subjects for KU projects on campus when no clinical data collection is needed. Please submit a protocol to Al Mafraq Hospital’s REC according to their posted schedules. If medical research involves data collection at other health care facilities, a copy of the health care facilities’ REC approval should be submitted to the Office of Research Support.
All KU non-medical research involving human subjects are required to submit protocols to the Office of Research Support. Completed protocols received by the first of the month will be reviewed by the end of the same month (in by the first, out by the thirty-first).
