Signal, Image and Video Processing Research at KU

The primary driver for signal processing research within the ECE department is to develop efficient, accurate and robust algorithms for the advancement of statistical analysis in audio, image and video processing.

Our work encapsulates a wide range of research and development capabilities including: fundamental algorithm design and development, analytical and statistical performance evaluation, testing on real-world data and embedded system development for various applications, from low-level image enhancement to cognitive computer vision.

Signal processing research in the ECE department is supported by the Visual Signal Analysis and Processing (VSAP) research center, which provides access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and opportunities for worldwide collaborations with leading academic institutions and industrial organizations.
