THE PROGRAM
Buhooth is an ambitious program that aims to achieve the vision of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to transform the UAE into a Centre of Excellence in Engineering and Science Research.
The main aims of the program are to encourage and promote postgraduate studies and research in the UAE and to graduate UAE nationals with specialized skills that will benefit UAE institutions. The graduates will also provide a source for the nationalization of UAE academic institutions. In addition, the program aims to establish and promote research collaboration between academia and industry and to provide means for know-how and technology transfer to the country.
The program offers Master and Doctorate scholarships for UAE Nationals. Under this program, Master and Doctorate scholarship students will be registered on the MSc by Research degree and the Ph.D. in Engineering degree offered by Khalifa University of Science, Technology, and Research (KUSTAR).

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants, who can be either male or female, must have:
- UAE citizenship
- A Bachelor degree for Master scholarship applicants
- A Master degree for Doctorate scholarship applicants
- The required degree from a recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in a relevant specialization*
- A minimum TOEFL score of 550 or an IELTS score of 6, or their equivalent
* Relevant specializations include Electrical engineering, Electronic engineering, Communication engineering, Computer engineering, Computer science, and Information Technology. Candidates with degrees in other pertinent specializations may also be considered.
