The development and applications of radio, television, radar, and transistors, have caused fundamental changes in the way we live and work today and how we view the future. Communication engineering is playing a major role in the information technology revolution that we witness today. The field of communication engineering encompasses a very broad spectrum of technical areas, including wireless systems, broadband networks, satellite, network security, digital TV, and internet. Communication engineers have continuously worked at the frontier of high technology and are involved in research, the creation of new ideas, and in design and development of new products, manufacturing, and marketing activities.
