A RESEARCH-DRIVEN UNIVERSITY
Research and Development form an integral part of the vision, mission and goals of Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR). A testament to this commitment is the explicit inclusion of the word "research" in the name of the university.
The research goal of the university is to conduct globally-competitive research. The university is pursuing a research strategy that addresses the balance of basic and applied research, emphasizes the value of collaborative and interdisciplinary research, and takes into account the global and national trends, and the needs of government, industry, business, and the community.
RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT
The university provides an environment conducive to research, with appropriate management, procedures, infrastructure, resources, and support for attracting and managing funds, exploitation of intellectual property rights, knowledge transfer and enterprise.
The university employs faculty and research staff with a proven international track-record of conducting and managing globally-competitive research. It involves its undergraduate and postgraduate students in research and independent study and equips them with the capability to extend their understanding beyond what is covered in their curriculum.
The university strives to establish links, partnerships, joint projects and exchange arrangements with government, industry, business organizations, and world-class institutions. The university also aims to foster a greater understanding by the general public of the benefits and applications of research.
